The Project Implementation Arrangement

The Federal Project Implementation Unit (FPIU) of Federal Ministry of Water Resources is responsible for general monitoring, evaluation and coordination of state level activities and implementation of some activities under the Federal Component of the National Water Sector Reform Project. The Federal Components includes dam rehabilitation, core state technical assistance, establishment of a National Water supply and sanitation training network, water resource management and river basin initiatives and MDG tracking for water supply and sanitation.

The FPIU is headed by the National Project Coordinator who is responsible for the day to day running of the office, reports to the Director, Water Supply, and FMWR for overall project guidance and direction. The FPIU is made up of four units viz:

(a) Management Information System ;

(b) Public Private Partnership Development Support ;

(c) Procurement; and

(d) Accounts

All the four Units are adequately staffed.
