Ekaro, Comfort Chukumuebobo (Mrs.) was born in Ogu Town, Ogu-Bolo Local Government Area of Rivers State on 26th October, 1959.

She attended the famous St. Martins School, Ogu, Ogu-Bolo LGA for her primary education where she obtained her First School Leaving Certificate in 1971. She proceeded to Holy Rosary Secondary School, Port Harcourt where she performed creditably well and was issued the West African School Certificate in 1977. Thereafter, she was admitted into the Rivers State School of Basic Studies, Port Harcourt between 1978 – 1980 for her Advance Level Programme.

Mrs. Ekaro proceeded to the prestigious University of Lagos where she obtained a B.A (Hons) History in 1983. After undergoing the mandatory one year National Service, Mrs. Comfort Ekaro (Nee Ebenezer) joined the Federal Civil Service in 1984 as Administrative Officer III and was posted to the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology where she served in different capacities within the Administrative/Personnel Department as well as serving in several committees as Secretary and Facilitator. She was also the desk officer in charge of twenty-six (26) Parastatals under the supervision of the Ministry until the scrapping of the Ministry and the creation of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) by the Babangida administration in 1992.

Mrs. Ekaro who was at the time a Principal Personnel Officer, was posted to National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) where she served until 2006 when she was posted to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. While in NASENI, she served in different capacities in the Personnel Management Department, several key Committees as well as chairman of investigative panel involving the Agency and its centres especially on personnel matters.

In 2004, she successfully sat for the Directorate Cadre promotion examination conducted by the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) to the post of Assistant Director and was posted to the Economic Affairs Office under the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) as desk officer, Bilateral matters. She represented Nigeria on bilateral matters involving several countries among which were Benin & Niger Republics, Syria, South Korea, Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey to mention a few.

She also worked in various MDAs including Federal Ministry of Transportation, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and served as Director, General Services in Federal Ministry of Aviation (Now Transportation).

Mrs. Ekaro was sworn-in by the President, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR as a Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service on the 20th December, 2017 and was thereafter deployed to the Federal Civil Service Commission where she was until her redeployment to the Federal Ministry of Water Resources vide a Circular dated 20th February, 2019 by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. In the course of her service, she attended several trainings, workshops and seminars within and outside the country. Mrs. Ekaro was admitted to Yaba Consult in Yaba Polytechnic, Lagos, in 2000 where she obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration. In 2014, she proceeded to University of Liverpool, United Kingdom where she obtained M.Sc. with Merit grade in Global Human Resource Management and conducted her project on Performance Management System in the Aviation Sector.

Mrs. Ekaro is widely travelled, and blessed with children.
